Here is my individual goal for this semester:
1) Study with class and maintain basic speaking and writing skills (of coz);
2) Read Japanese newspaper and magzines to improve my reading skill;
3) Watch Japanese cartoon, seems that I could understand more than last semester :)

Reading the newspaper seems a bit daunting to me. I hear it requires lots of kanji knowledge. Does understanding Chinese and recognizing kanji characters make it much easier to read the Japanese newspaper? Aren't the meanings of the characters different in Chinese?
Please state how you would like to achieve goal 2) and 3)
a) Where do you find newspaper, magazines, and cartoon?
b) How often and how much do you read and watch?
c) How do you want to review afterwards?
Cartoons are good for picking out one-liners like ちがいます and わかります but I personally think that they speak too fast to fully comprehend the grammar. If you can understand it then you're pretty well prepared for the listen part of the exams.
